Welcome to York Region

York Region

York Region is home to almost one million people, in nine thriving communities. York is a growing and diverse region, with nearly half of its population made up of immigrants.

York is located directly north of Toronto, in some of the most protected greenspace in Ontario. In fact, about one third of the region is within the environmentally sensitive Oak Ridges Moraine.

York is also known for its countless arts, entertainment and cultural venues. Its diverse economy, excellent school systems and strong labour market are just a few reasons that people choose to settle in York Region.
