Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, Dr. Eric Hoskins: We are opening up the Provincial Nominee Program to international students graduating from Master's programs. And we are making this change because Ontario wants to attract and retain the best and brightest international students. We want these students to be able to put their knowledge and their expertise to work in areas such as research, healthcare, education, and the sciences. By retaining these graduates, this will help our businesses here in Ontario compete both locally and globally - and that's a win for all Ontarians.

Yikai Zhang: Hi, my name is Yikai Zhang and I am a recent nominee in the Master's graduate stream of the Opportunities Ontario Provincial Nominee Program. Applying for the Provincial Nominee Program is a really exciting thing for me. It's a very easy process and staff from the Provincial Nominee Program are always willing to help me. I feel really excited and honored to be nominated by them. I know things from now on will be easier for me. My immigration process will be expedited and probably I can get my permanent residence by next summer. I recommend to all Master's students to apply through Opportunities Ontario Provincial Nominee Program.

Minister Hoskins: I'm proud of Ontario's international students, and I'm proud that with today's announcement we will be able to invite even more of them to put their skills to work and help us build, together, a stronger Ontario.

Thank you.
