Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee Program


Are you an employer having trouble finding the skilled workers you need? Are you an investor who wants to bring key employees on a permanent basis? Are you a foreign worker or international student who would like to work permanently in Ontario?

July 20, 2009 - Prospective nominees can now complete the Nominee Application Form electronically before printing and submitting the completed form to Opportunities Ontario. Please consult the Nominee Application Guide for detailed instructions.

Opportunities Ontario: Provincial Nominee Program (Opportunities Ontario) was launched on February 20, 2009.

How it helps employers

Opportunities Ontario helps employers hire the skilled workers they need, but are having difficulty finding, by assisting with the immigration of foreign workers and international students. Through the program, skilled foreign workers and international students may be nominated for permanent resident status in Canada. Opportunities Ontario will target 1,000 nominations in 2009.

How it helps investors

Opportunities Ontario helps attract investment to the province by assisting key employees recruited by investors obtain permanent resident status.

How it helps individuals

For foreign workers and international students, Opportunities Ontario may be a pathway to permanent resident status. However, it is important to understand that Opportunities Ontario is employer-driven. That means you can only apply if your employer is pre-screened and the position is approved by Opportunities Ontario.
